The world's record holder for deepest fish goes to the brotulid family, about which scientists know almost nothing. These fish are benthopelagic, living at depths of 7000 meters or more. The world's deepest fish (Abyssobrotula galatheae) was found in the Puerto Rican Trench at a depth of 8,372 meters (that's over five miles down!).

hey, well you might not belive me but 2 summers ago I was on a boat in the lake Champlaim, we were in a little bay hidden from the wind with about 20 to 30 other boats who had set there anchor for the night, the sun was coming down and we had just started the BBQ for supper. We heard a huge noise, can't really describe it. It was from far away but was strong enough to hear it very clearly, and when that happened every one in that bay were on the deck of there boat looking at each other not knowing what it was. But more then one boat has been on that lake with some high-tech gadgets to try to scan the bottom without any results althougt I can say I heard it once.

The "unexplored depths" are mysterious, kind of like the Amazons. I would hope in one of these places lies a cure for cancer, a cure for diabetes, or even a natural for-all diet plant.

Our current technology does not allow us to discover these places. Will someone please be more creative!

Maybe those creatures who don't need light and less food and nutrients..some strains of viruses and bacteria..i guess..there are schools of fish with built-in lightbulbs to help them explore the depth themselves not relying on the sun's rays..i think the giant squids and octupuses are hiding there somewhere and waiting for the right time to come up and bang the headlines..sweeeeeet..
