This is an honest question, because I wasn't there and I figure people who were have to know better than me.

Here's how I see it. The whole point was to stretch the limits of studio production right? Because the album could never be performed live. And I don't see the huge long term influence in that. I mean music is still made so that it can be played live and (excepting manufactured pop acts) most of the work isn't done in the production room. And then the sound? The simpler pop songs weren't new, the Beatles themselves had done better pop before. The trippier tracks weren't extremely revolutionary were they? I mean has the never ending note at the end of the album had a huge influence on modern music? What was different if you were actually there?

But then an album like The Velvet Underground & Nico actually introduced new concepts that were possible to actually play and not just produce. You can hear the its influence everywhere. Indie, noise, punk, pop and all out art rock.

I'm a QUEEN fan. A HUGE Queen fan, but they have some remixes of some very good songs and they just make me crazy! One is "We Will Rock You" with at least 7 remixes, none of which are any good and have nothing to do with the original song!
What is with the stupid RAP?!
Another one is "Dragon Attack"! Again with the stupid rap!
Then there is a remix of some of Freddie's solo stuff.
I'm sure the last thing he said before he died was, "My dears, I hope that someday they make remixes of some of my songs and make me sound like a stammering idiot!"

I have a dream to start a rock band group. All I want to know is how can I recruit the "right" people that are serious enough and stay with the group. I have recruited some before but they all ended up leaving because they thought it was going anywhere. I play guitar and have been playing for about 6 yrs. I want to start a band that will work its way up. Meaning that I'm looking for guitarists, drummers, bassists, keyboard player and singers both male or female that have no problem with first going at it without pay. I want to work on songs that are original and songs that are good for parties, clubs, and all special occasions. I would like to know if there is anyone out there that can help me out in this issue that i am facing. Any advice would be appreciated.

And that's rock and its millions of subgenres...I just want to avoid any pop or Joey Fatone answers. But Joey Fatone did inspire this question.

I think it would be interesting to see the spin that Rob Zombie could provide to "The Price Is Right". Could you imagine what he could do to Plinko?
