The Doors. I don't particularly like The Rolling Stones.

The Doors were very very good and not just because of Jim Morrison but in the end if you look at the entire body of work, the Rolling Stones are on a whole other level. Its hard to argue from an artistic standpoint but in terms of quality of work and the impact on culture, the Rolling Stones win hands down.
However like another person said, why bother with the comparison? Why not just enjoy both?
P.S. - Everyone knows that Jim was a drunkard but he was no idiot. Besides how can one use that as an argument when you have Keith Richards to compare to?

The Rolling Stones were great but The Doors were the ultimate. They are my all-time favorite band.

The Rolling Stones overall going with an objective view. I still prefer them anyway. But the Rolling Stones released so many albums. They have a couple bad albums hidden in there.
But what's the point of comparing them?

The Rolling Stones survived the drug thing way back when, Jim Morrison didn't and the Doors never recovered.

Not even close. The Rolling Stones have 20 times the hits and 20 times the staying power.
The Doors are way overrated and their lead singer was a drunken idiot.
Give me Jumping Jack Flash, Honky Tonk Women, Gimme Shelter, and Brown Sugar over "hello, I love you won't you tell me your name, hello, I love you won't you tell me your GAME-----LAME rhyme!!
Plus, the Stones are still rockin'!
BTW--My favorite bands are The Police and Foo Fighters.
