I'm a QUEEN fan. A HUGE Queen fan, but they have some remixes of some very good songs and they just make me crazy! One is "We Will Rock You" with at least 7 remixes, none of which are any good and have nothing to do with the original song!
What is with the stupid RAP?!
Another one is "Dragon Attack"! Again with the stupid rap!
Then there is a remix of some of Freddie's solo stuff.
I'm sure the last thing he said before he died was, "My dears, I hope that someday they make remixes of some of my songs and make me sound like a stammering idiot!"

What remixes make you cringe? What remixes drive you crazy?

Yeah, I'm listening to Queen now.

Their remix of Bicycle Race is horrible. Why use turntables?

WHY EVEN REMIX THE SONGS?!? SONGS THAT WERE ONCE AMAZING WORKS OF ART! NOW CASHED IN FOR WHAT WAS HIP AT THE TIME, FOR, FOR RAP!!! RAP AND TURNTABLES!!

Remixes are for the tone deaf and musically very very challenged. I know because I polled a number of people from the music group I belong to and guess what? Most of the people who loved them cannot hold a note, could not get a melody from a malady and are musical losers. Remix is supposed to have originated as a improv concept, but except for some Jazz remixes, I have not heard anything innovative in them. But, since we are a compassionate country, we need something for the musically retarded as well, so that is why we permit and encourage remixed music.

Agreed, most remixes are just a bastardization of the original song, but tracks like R. Kelly's "Ignition" are much better in the remixed version, odd as that may sound. Personally, I couldn't stand in 2000-2002 when they were making techno remixes of everything.

By and large, I'm not a fan. All of the remixes I've ever heard are never really adding anything to the song - I'm looking for more than putting a drum loop in there.

I usually hate remixes, BUT............. when Bloc Party came out with silent alarm remixed, I liked some of the songs more than the originals. in the end, i would stick with the original album. I also thought that some of the across the universe songs ( you might call them remakes, but....) were great. NOTHING compared to the original Beatles songs, but pretty good in my mind.

I heard this really bad techno remix of Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. It was so painful. They not only ruined the instrumental (no Gilmour guitar solo) but they also messed up Waters' voice. it was bad.
I for the most part, hate all remixes, especially if it's techno remixes.

U2 Knows how to do remixes. Almost everybody else manages to screw it up. I hate all the new Beatles remixes. They're really mash-ups that are pretty sad.
