Classical

do classical music suppose to have meanings to them, or are they just melodies - whether you like it or not.

I only like a couple of classical music, ie: Beethoven's moonlight sonata - because it's peaceful, and Bach's Air and his Brandenburg Concertos No.2 - ii: Andante. I don't like any other Bach's music apart from them because they are either too noisy or too long that makes me sleepy.

What do you think?

Can anyone recommend a piano piece that is not advanced. I just want something new and pretty to focus on. I really like "The Heart Asks Pleasure First." so anything in that vein would be great. Thanks.

I have a violin a couple years old that I bought new. I want to sell it, but I don't know how much it would go for. It is in great condition, and I want to sell the case, too. Though it smells rather funky, as it has spent most of its life in a closet. I removed the strings, and two of the pegs don't really move, I can't get them out. It's still very shiny and clean. How much could I get for it? I don't know what size it is. Tell me what other information I should put up about it.

Hans von Bulow,a famous conductor in the 19th century, once said something like "There's no poor orchestra but only the poor conductor".Does anyone know the precise quotation and its source? I would appreciate very much if you could also show what he said in German, his native language.
Thank you.

My current favorite is Donizetti's "Ah! mes amis, quel jour de fete!" from "La Fille du Regiment" because of the lilting way he launches the high C's and still maintains deep tones for the rest of the song. Such balance. And it's romantic.

But I'd like to hear your opinion to get more ideas as to what to listen to. Obscure stuff is appreciated. Thanks so much.

Coloratora and lirico spinto soprano singers need a duet, one that allows nice harmony and complements both voices. We already sung "the flower duet" and "dulces christe". I need a lot of songs to choose from.

I`ve just recently wrapped my piano fingers around "The Swan Lake Waltz".

I`m working on "The Blue Danube" & "The Flower Waltz" & exploring my mom`s old classical sheet music `cos it has loads of gems.

Any other great familiar waltzes?

I am creating a work in which all symphonies intertwine with another, and if you connect any two symphonies at one specific point, the sound created will cause nuclear fallout.
