Because it's complex while being beautiful. So it is intellectually and emotionally satisfying. Because the themes are strong and heart wrenching without being maudlin.
Because he knows how to write a catchy theme, too: the Fifth Symphony's ba-ba-ba-bum are omnipresent. Listen to Piano Sonata No. 8 In C Minor, Op. 13 'Pathetique': II. Adagio cantabile for why he has lasted. Delicate, beautiful. There's a reason they call it CLASSICAL -- it lasts!

I think that Beethoven's music is still so popular not only because of his superiorly magnificent composition skills (with all their details I will not mention here), but also because he was a master at understanding psychology and could express it without words, but with notes. An excellent example is his Funeral March (3rd Symphony, second movement). He expressed all of the stages of grieving so eloquently. No matter how many times I hear it, hum it or play it, I am driven to tears. Moreover, the music is absolutely beautiful !

Well,I can tell you about him.
Beethoven was a really talented composer that wrote beautiful notes and actually hard and difficult notes.
His notes are difficult even for the big violin players!
I should tell you that all of the musics had/have a story.
For example:Symphony no,5 or no,9 had/have a story about his life ar a special time of his life witch make all of us to believe him and know him ,well. With these notes he clearly wanted to tell us his difficulties and the bad or good times of his life.
When he was alive people didn't know or even didn't like his notes, but after he died people undrestud his notes and they did believe them.He died but his music of his life didn't.
Beethoven's music makes him alive.
This is exactly the reason and the sicret of his music. And Nowdays most of the people like him.
I become really happy if I know I could help you.

Great compositional techniques, expanded musical forms from those of the classical era which preceded hi,m.... one opera, 5 piano concerti, fabulous violin concerto, 2 books of piano sonatas; most famous: moonlight,. Pathetique, Passionate, Wallenstein. ..Bi lion, cello, piano trios, violin-piano sonatas, songs, 9 samplings, where nos. 1,3,5,6,7,and 9 wear4e superlative, The 9th containing the famines Ode To Joy. What he did was to set the table for the entire romantic era, and is considered the start of that era.
Other composers often wrote music which we recall more easily, but Beethoven wrote Ode To Joy which no one has come close to in its simplicity abed universality as a song.

It is the usual thing: people hear it in a movie and begin liking it.
In this case, Beethoven was featured heavily in A Clockwork Orange

hes not popular because of p diddy or anything stupid like that. They incorporate his work into their "music" because its amazing. if anything, LvB is doing them a favour, not vice versa.
