I'm not really into classical music, but I'm looking for something different, something moving...

Hmmm.... you say you are not into classical music but you want something moving. Classical music provides the basis for many dramatic mainstream pieces (Andrew Lloyd Webber, movie soundtracks). So when you listen to the original source, it's like the difference between seeing the Matterhorn at Disneyland and seeing Half Dome at Yosemite. You are struck by the purity and drama.

Also to delete classical music from the equation is kind of like saying "I want to see a well done painting but I can't stand Da Vinci, Rembrandt or Monet. I just like cartoons." Okay.... ... ....

I'd try Mozart's Concerto #17 and #18 performed by Murray Perahia. The second movement (Andante) is tear wrenching. Mozart's Concerto #22 third movement -- so delicate and beautiful. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

~chopin nocturnes (beautiful, fun to play), etudes (if your in the mood for INTENSE playing), waltzes (repetative, but classic)
