So I have a chance to see La Rondine by Puccini at the SF Opera this winter. Have you seen it? Do you like it? Would you see it? Here's the cast:

Magda de Civry: Angela Gheorghiu*
Ruggero Lastouc: Misha Didyk
Lisette: Anna Christy
Prunier: Gerard Powers*

Any insight?

I like slower melodies with a lot of horns, pianos, and cellos....

Can you recommend a composer other than Mozart, Bach, Beethovan or Tchacovshy?

Or a composition from either of those four that would be a good example of the type I mentioned above?

Hello, how was Mozart rebllious? I need to write a report on him being rebellious and all. I can't find a website on his rebellion. I can only find his biography which my teacher doesn't want. I want a website (or an article) that just focuses on Mozart's rebellion.

my right hand starts to get this sharp pain about 100 measures into the 3rd movement, and during the 1st movement like the real fast part where you play 1/8 notes and hold the petal (hey its hard to explain!). its the pad of the pointer finger and the muscles leading up the sides of fingers that really sting. the left hand is fine because that doesn't get worked so hard, but the right hand hurts so bad i basically have to stop and just cool off for a couple hours.

am i ever going to get a strong enough hand for this (im 26 years old, so its not a growing thing), or are my joints and muscles just going to get weaker?

If you were to buy one set of the complete Beethoven piano sonatas, what pianist would you choose??
Personally I would choose Emil Gilels. Although I find Schnabel's interperatation to be the best, his lack of technical mastery detracts from the experiance as a whole. Gilels in my opinion possesses a wonderful and balanced combination of technical mastery and interperative vision. Looking forward to your opinions.

i know this might be a difficult question to answer and i'll try my best to explain it.

i need the name of a classical music song.

the main instrument heard is the piano playing a deep low beat
with a nice high melody.

it kinda reminds me of "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head"
my school orchestra was once practicing it as i walked by
and i have heard it in movies

it's a very cheery song

sorry for the lack of detail

I am considering to buy a Yamaha Grand Piano, here are the claimed details from the retailer:

Age: Around 30 Years
Type: C2 (173 CM/5'8'')
Condition: Display item mainly -- has not been played much
It has been Re-painted
There are minor scratches on the keyboard/piano
Also a few spots showing little white
None of the strings/hammers have been replaced
Price: Around 5500 USD

All the details are claimed by the sellers and I have no idea if they are true or not. I tried playing the piano then I found it to be loud just as a upright piano (you know Yamaha), but then they told me its out of tune and hasnt been fixed in a long time.

Should I buy it? Experts please help -- any details on prices of similar piano would be of great reference/comparison. Thanks.

I thought I'd try some classical music, and I'm told he wrote a few decent tunes. I'm downloading nine symphonies by the Berlin Philharmonic, are they any good, or just some local band? Which one should I listen to first? Any advice appreciated, I'm trying to improve myself here....

Since most of those classical songs have names like "Bheethoven's symphony #9" I can never match the music/sounds I hear on TV/radio with actual song names (especially since there are no lyrics!)

Is there a website to find out more about classical?
