Why should we know that a non-chord tone that follows a structural tone is called a passing tone. Or that a note that approaches my leap and leaves my step is called an appoggiatura. And that a note that approaches by step and leaves my leap is called an escape tone... etc. etc.

It just seems like meaningless information to me...

all my fave recordings (most of them historic vinyl) are by German musicians.
do they have a special "something" when it comes to Beethoven ?.if i see a new disc by a non-german orchestra i seldom bother,am i missing out ?
i have the occaisional Austrian ones but i'm wondering if Beethoven is similar to Wagner in that the best albums are from Germany.

Lately, I enjoyed listening to Classical and Light Classical.
I love violin, piano, and woodwind instruments.
What are some good CD's to buy for the beginning listener?

How do you play the part right after the big scale? On my copy it has all the notes as half noted with a bracket with a 3 over the notes. What does that mean? It's in 2/2 time so I know the half notes aren't really half notes.

Mine is usually the good old "i'm the soloist with orchestra and oh CRAP i don't KNOW this concerto they just started" one. Or I dream that I once again had to check in and see why my Graduate school DID NOT give me my Master's Degree even though I did the program AGAIN!

if it where on piano that would be the best, but it does not have to be. i am trying to compose with multiple melodies and am looking for some ideas, and remembered that my piano teacher talked about some of the old dead dudes( mozart, chopin, bach, etc...)having some pretty cool songs with multiple melodies, and am looking for stuff like that. and also is there a term for such a song?

Hello all, i know that harpsichords usually have assorted pedals for different functions but, out of curiosity, is there one that has the same effect as a piano's sustain pedal?
Thanks in advance

Is it due to its strong rhythm? But the Allegretto is quite slow. Can you provide me with other opinions?

I have been listening to classical stuff like beethoven for like a year now and I want to start learning how to play. I just have a few problems like no time and no piano so I was going to try to use one of those learn piano by yourself and keyboard pianos to begin. Does anything sound wrong with that? cause I dont really know where to begin.

Thanks

........calling a string quartet, for example, a "song" ?

Are they all trying to annoy the socks off us by doing that? I am assuming it is intentional.

its off ren and stimpy which if u were a fan heard the great classical music it had! Okay the piece i'm after is after ren (the chihuahua rat lookin thing) says "no sir, but you look like someone who could really use some rubber nipples!" and the camera gradually pans upwards towards the horses head.

Thanks very much

I'm looking for something that seems impressive (chords, lots of jumping around on the keyboard, fast tempo, etc.). but really isn't too difficult. I'm think about 10 pages or so. Any suggestions?
