Lately, I enjoyed listening to Classical and Light Classical.
I love violin, piano, and woodwind instruments.
What are some good CD's to buy for the beginning listener?

Okay, I recommend a CD booklet they sell at Borders. It's called: The Worlds Most Beautiful Classical Music. It's a 6 cd booklet with loads of classics, piano solos, and much more. I bought it cannot stop listening to them since. Good luck finding it!

can't tell you actual cd's but here's a few pieces:
piano - Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven
- one cd would be good for piano is the Classic 100 Piano, you can get it at ABC Shops.
- Fur Elise by Beethoven
- Clair de Lune by Debussy
woodwind - Clarinet Concerto in A Major by Mozart
Violin - just about everything
- try The Four Seasons by Vivaldi

I probably know more but my brains not really working today.
Try listening to ABC Classic FM (92.9 FM).
they have pretty cool stuff on just about every day.
(hope this helped, if not, oh well)

There's a wonderful program on NPR called "Performance Today". On the websight they have a library of the 50 Essential Classical CD's -- try this link:

Have fun!!

Symphonies. Go with Beethoven, Mozart, and/or Haydn. Also check out the Bach Brandenburg concerti.

Also try keyboard sonatas of all of the above.

I'm sorry, I don't have the names of the exact CDs, but I suggest asking the store for pieces that aren't too complicated. Complicated pieces of definitely hard to play and sometimes hard to listen to too.
:)
