Since most of those classical songs have names like "Bheethoven's symphony #9" I can never match the music/sounds I hear on TV/radio with actual song names (especially since there are no lyrics!)

Is there a website to find out more about classical?

Start listening to Jim Schweda on KUSC. He, and other people on FM radio, or NPR, are very informative. So are their websites. This is not something you can learn like studying for a test. It takes many months or years of listening to determine what you like. It's a big world out there, and it is filled with wonderful music.

You can also find an overview music history class to be helpful. On half.com, see if you can find a college music history book WITH the accompanying CDs - maybe Grout, or one of the other well-known texts. It will take a LONG time, but you will traverse the entire spectrum of music history, with listening example. Sibelius and other instructional software companies also put of an entire *family* of software and CD ROMs. Look thry those at jwpepper.com.

I am a music theorist, and now am learning wine the same way I know musicology. It is an unending education - but sure it fun sampling it all!
