When they do closed caption on the television, I'm totally fascinated by it. How in the world do they do it? Where (in what facility) is the person who is typing it? I know it's live because they make mistakes and correct them on the spot. I'm not a young person but I just can't figure it out.

Go see the doctor
Go to the doctor

Can you explain the fine distinctions between each phrase?

Could the same be said of going to Dentists, Architects, etc?

Thanks.

....'I 'aven't got a Scooby-doo' (Clue)

Please don't bore us all by down-loading dozens of examples or 'educating' us with the origins of Cockney Rhyming Slang etc, this is JUST a bit of light-hearted fun ok.
Modern versions like my example & even your own make-ups are welcome. cheers.

Like "what in the sam hill?" when i was a kid, i remember my grandparents calling the couch a davenport. i think thats a brand or something. i know youve all heard the days of the week that all end with two e's apparently. Mundee, tuesdee, thursdee, etc. hahah what do you all think? Input of your own on "old white people phrases"
