the circumstances: somebody sent an email - they were saying something like "are just the guys invited...or aldjfj..."
Does that make a difference? thanks.

it really dosent mean a thing. i know some people who do that kinda thing when theyre frusturated or suprised on i.m.
i.e. "aldfksjdfl'
its just them randomly hitting keys

It is another way of asking you to respond to the invitation. Or to ask you to reply saying whether you plan to attend or not.
