What is the meaning of proverb 'spit & span' & 'hither & thither'?

'Spick and span' means perfectly clean.
'Hither and thither' means here and there.

It is Spik and Span meaning it is clean neat and tidy Hither and thither means here there and everywhere.~~

hither and thither means to go to and fro, or here and there. yon means" a position beyond" or at a distance within a view, i.e yonder.
