is "one or the other" singuar or plural?
it is used in this sentence :
"One or the other (becomes, become) the controlling influence of our lives." and im supposed to choose the right form for become(either for singular or plural)

We were ask to make a conversation using idiomatic expression and we will present it on our speech class. So pls do help me with this.

heres the guidelines:
a conversation involving 2 person with 6-7 exhanges every exchange should have atleast 1 idiom being used. It doesnt matter if it is formal /informal.
