Literally: "respond, if you it pleases (if it pleases you to do so) "

It is a polite way of asking for a response to an invitation. American English has no equivalent phrase, therefore we use French. It is, after all, the language of diplomacy.

Or it means bring something of your own to the party, like food or beverages.I'm not quite sure.
