I've read the expression, "doe eyed" -- obviously it means their eyes are like a doe, but how can you tell? What does it mean?

Doe eyed, means that it looks like deer eyes, soft and warm looking. It means that they look on the world with wide eyed innocence. It implies that they may be naive in their outlook.

Yes. It means nice big eyes like a dear. It's meant as a compliment when I say it. And when a certain someone looks at me all doe-eyed, I melt.

It just implies a big, wide eyed look. Like innocence in the eyes. Like if you look into someone's eyes there's the "i don't know what you mean" look.

It means you have big brown eyes with a dark fringe of lashes around them. My husband has "doe-eyes" which I always teased him about, saying they would look great on a girl - luckily our daughter inherited his beautiful eyes!
