Shes getting them right at about 80%, she will read the letters off of our tee shirts, ect..Is this normal? My 4 year old is only getting about 20% of them right, but she has always seemed a little behind her peers. How old do kids usually start recognizing letters on paper and telling you what letter it is?

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each
other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,
he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
"Please wake me at 5:00 AM " He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM
and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and
see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by
the bed. The paper said, "It is 5 :00 AM. Wake up."
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

My son is 4 yrs old and he will not go potty unless I have him naked, as soon as I put anything on he goes in the pants and he does not talk at all. I have had him tested and they say he has the speech of a 1 yr old but the intelligence of a 5 yr old. I have done research on autism and alot of it describes my son perfectly but don't know where to go get him checked out to make sure. The lady that tested him last year said he just had a speech problem and it would go away but it hasn't and he is supposed to start school in august and I can NOT send him to school in diapers and not be able to talk to anyone. I mean we have our little own sign language but that is not for school. I am desperate any suggestions please help. Thank you
He hasn't been to a doctor since 2002 cause medicaid says my husband makes 1 dollar too much and florida kid care says we qualify for medicaid so I am caught and don't know what else to do

My 4 yr old step daughter has very bad speach problems. She was abandoned by her mother whaen she was 2, and we fought for custody of her. When we got her, all she could say was "mommy". She's improved greatly, but she still has the inability to make some letter sounds. And her vocabulary has improved, also, but it's still very behind. Her and my 2 1/2 yr old daughter have the same vocabulary, pretty much.I worry about her because she will start school next year and I don't want her to be held back. She can't make "c"sounds, or "g" sounds, or "l" sounds. Cat sounds like "Tat", Gun sounds like "Dun", and Love sounds like "Wuv". How in the world can you "teach someone to make certain "sounds", when you can't really show them how to form your mouth to make these sounds? I don't know how speach therapists do it, and we can't afford one. Any ideas?

My son is in kindergarden, he started school in Michigan then moved down to florida three months later, he has been in this new school for two months and I'm moving into a new school district but I can't decide if I wanna have him change schools again or let him stay in the one he is currently in.

Reason for moving so much is because my mom got sick and we moved to Florida to be closer to her incase she needed some help and we moved in with her, now we have the money to get our own place so we have to move again.

At my school we'll be running a playschool for 3-5yr olds. I have a pretty good idea for transportation and safety week, but I have one dilema. Can a 3-5 year old make a paper airplane? Does anyone have easy instructions for making a simple airplane with 3-5 year olds...that they could follow easily?

I am looking to start up a preschool program. I know about franchising options and looking at starting a church preschool. What I need to know is all the politics, legistics, and business questions I should be researching so I have all the information I need. Also, I could use any advice I can get from current directors of preschools. I have an education degree and I've been working with preschool children for 10 years. I need to know what goes on beyond the education of youngsters.

I just found out that my son has a bit of problems with mathematical logical problems, but has excellent reading skills.

Any good tips to help him learn how to solve the logical questions in math? I don't want to have to resolve to memorisation because I beleive it won't help him just to "know" the answers... I want him to learn how to resolve the problem in front od him.

Thanks in advance for your help

I am a friend of a family who is friends with a family who attends my preschool. My friends (the link to this other family) confided in me that this family is going through a very difficult time - divorce, allegations of spousal abuse, etc. The daughter is in my classroom, and I've noticed a dramatic change in her behavior (presumably because of what's happening at home), but when I talk to her mom about it, she says that nothing's changed at home and that she doesn't know where the behavior is coming from. I'm obviously not supposed to know this information, but I do, and it's breaking my heart to see this little girl hurting so much. How can I help her without offending or embarassing her mother? I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Thanks in advance for help with this situation.
