wal-mart....babies R Us.....ANYTHING can be educational if you make it. i have a 1 year old too, so i know what i'm talking about.

just have fun with her. get her a set of wooden blocks....my son has some and they are his favorite things. i feed him A LOT of hormel cups (they make them in Mac n cheese and chicken noodle rings and others) anyways, they come with a little plastic lid. when i get done cooking it, i give the lid to him. he probably has 20 or 30. he LOVES those things. they are FREE, basically. he stacks them and i count them with him. like i said, anything can be used as a learning toy...and it doesn't have to be expensive.

good luck!

Honestly the most educational toy for your daughter is your house. All these Leap Frog Multi button singing tickle toys are just out to get your money. The most educational experience for your daughter is your voice explaining what she sees. My son is 2 and a month. He can count to 10 and knows his colors, letters in his name, sounds of animals. Get down on the floor and crawl around. See what she sees and help her understand by explaining it. I understand it feels stupid. It is okay you are her daddy and she thinks you are amazing so don't worry.

Toys R Us, Wal-mart, Targert, anywhere that sells toys. I prefer leap frog toys. My daughter is one and she has Fridge Phonics, (By Leap Frog), You put the letter in the middle of the toy and it says the letter and the sound of the letter, she loves Sesame Street, and all types educational dvd's. I go into Toys R Us and get broke, for education. Anything by Lap Frog, they have touch and see books where you can work with her. Be Blessed!

some of the previous answers are really good but the most important thing for your daughter to learn is that she can count on you to be there when she needs you.

some of the most educational toys for this age child are the ones you make yourself....
they dont have to be electronic, or fancy, or cost lots of money or take lots of time.

my daughters favorite toy was a book all about her that i made from photos, pictures from magazines(and advertisements), and some that i colored or had her brother and sister color for her.

the first pages showed her as a newborn and with pictures of all the members of our family with there names next to them.

then several pages of pictures of babies, animals, toys, and food(from mags and advertisements) but all things she liked or was interested in.

then several pages of pictures of her at different ages doing things all over town with our family and friends, and places we visited.

then a page with colors with the names with them and a few more pictures

and the last page shows her sleeping with thumb in her mouth and her favorite blanket and sleeping friends.

shes now almost 19 years old and that was one of the things she took with her to college.

but you can make posters, placemats(sealed with contact paper), musical instruments, blocks, puppets, or almost any thing

if you have more questions check out your local library, or local daycare facility some one there will most likely help you out. or you can email me.at ....tchrzpt@yahoo.com

I reccomend the wood puzzles with animals, letters or numbers. it ought to no longer sound like a amazing present day, yet my daughter loves them basically 2d to her books. She is now 2 and a million/2, yet she has enjoyed the two those extra advantageous than toys oddly adequate! i think of it teaches them, and additionally sharpens their minds to extra healthful the products the place they flow.
