does anyone have any ideas on activities that have to do with cause and effect for preschoolers?

mixing paint colors- mixing yeelow and blue causes a change to green

when an ice cube is left out in room temperature, that will cause it to melt

Mix up some bread dough with and without yeast- yeast causes bread to rise

You can play the game Mousetrap? You set it up to do all kinds of things, and then one thing causes another.

You can set up dominos and then knock them over.

You can talk about weather and gardening. How wind, sun, rain, etc make the flowers grow. You can talk about how clouds form and how the rain and snow happens.

You can make Rice Krispie treats. The heat causes the marshmellows to melt.

You can bring in an animal and ask how caretaking for a pet causes the pet to be happy or sad.

You can do a basic health exercise. How taking care of your body with sleep, nutrition, exercise causes you to be big and strong. Or break it down into each thing.

You can do the straw cover thingy...you know? when you scrunch up the paper from a drinking straw then add a drop of your drink to it and it wiggles around like a worm?

You can talk about feelings a little bit. What causes you to be happy? What causes you to be sad? What causes you to be frustrated?

I don't usually deal with little ones so maybe some of this is too abstract. Also depends on how long the lesson is.
