For example, I know to find the domain of a fraction (1/x+2), you set the denominator equal to zero, and that number is NOT in the domain (ie- -2). But what about for functions like 2(x-3)? I am in a Calculus class and I am working on finding extremas, and whether sections are increasing or decreasing. I need a quick and easy way to look at a function and determine the domain.

There is a research paper about the potato famine in my humanities class and all I have to do left is the thesis statement, which is what I horrible at. I know what a thesis statement has and all, but I cannot seem to round up all the ideas together. It takes me one hour to have a O.K. thesis statement. I am not kidding. Thesis statements are my worst enemies. Somebody please tell me what you do to for steps to a fantastic thesis statement. Maybe I could try it. Please do not give me vague advice.
