If the problem is just that the answer is too long to fit in the answer cell, you could also try formatting the answer cell to have only a certain number of digits after the decimal point, or to be in scientific notation. If you have an actual error, (#N/A, #VALUE!, #REF!, #NUM! etc), use the Formula Auditing toolbar (right-click on any toolbar and click on Formula Auditing) to help you check where Excel is looking for values to use for A2 and B2 (are they themselves the results of formulae or functions?). I learnt about using functions in Excel by using the fx button on the formula bar - it walks you through the steps any particular function wants. Good luck.

positioned the VAT fee in a separate cellular far off from the substantial spreadsheet, say J1, and use it as an absolute reference. So, if your expenditures are in column A rows 2:50, in B2 positioned the formula =A2*$J$a million and autofill down. that supply you VAT fee, then in column C, =A2+B2 supplies the full, then autofill down. by way of making use of absolute if the VAT fee differences you in ordinary terms want replace the single cellular as a results of fact the formula will replace the values. it may be stupid just to have 17.5 in one separate column taking place the rows.

This error usually means that one of the cells referred to doesn't have a number in it, so the formula can't calculate an answer. Double check to make sure cells A2 and B2 have numbers in therm.

It worked fine for me. Ah! You must have a text character in A2 or B2 or a number preceded with a single quote (') that tells the cell to be a character. Check your cells carefully for accuracy.

## usually just means that the resulting sum has too many characters to fit in the cell. Try widening the column, and see if that doesn't help.

are you meaning the results are returning with ######? If so you may just need to make the width of the cell wider.
