You need an apostrophe to show possession (there's a linguistically historical reason for this, as for much of English spelling). Write the owner of whatever it is (eg the Birthday Surprise). Then put an apostrophe. Then decide whether or not you need to add an 's'.
The lady's hats = the hats belonging to the lady (needs an 's');
The ladies' hats = the hats belonging to the ladies (no further 's' needed);
Jesus' life = the life of Jesus.
This works every time, no exceptions. I was taught this my second year at school (1973, aged 6). Pity such a simple rule seems to be no longer taught - teach your children!

B. The "apostrophe s" shows possession. The birthday surprise belongs to Dolly the Dolphin. The "s apostrophe" would show possession for multiple dolphins. No apostrophe just means more than one dolphin, shows no possession.

The correct answey is B because Dolly is one dolphin and you want to show the birthday belongs to her, so you put an apostophe between the n and s. (dolphin's)

b Dolphin`s spelled this way indicates singular possession. This is Dolly Dophin`s Birthday Surprise. Spelling Dolphins indicate plural or more than one dolphin, and spelling Dolphins` indicate plural possession.

The answer is B. "Dolphin's" is the singular possesive of "Dolphin". And since it sounds like "Dolly" isn't traveling with a posse, Dolphins' isn't for her.

b is correct, the 's represents that the birthday belongs to dolly.
a would refer to dolly as being many, but even that would be incorrect. -s means more than one.
c would mean that there are many dollys, and they all have this birthday.
good luck!! :)

I would say "B" also because ('s) shows possesion. And although a mouthfull, It is still Dolly's Surprise.
