The Mississippi River forms the entire western boundary with Iowa and Missouri. The Wabash River forms a large part of the eastern boundary with Indiana. The Ohio River forms the southern boundary with Kentucky.

The town of Cairo (pronounced KAY-row) is in the extreme southwest corner of Illinois, at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

Interstate 55 connects Chicago with St. Louis and points south (Memphis, Jackson, and New Orleans) via the Bloomington/Normal area and Springfield. It does NOT go to Champaign. I-57 (a slightly shorter route to the South) connects Chicago with Cario and Skieston, Missouri (where it joins I-55). It is interstate 57 that goes past the Champaign/Urbana area.

Having never heard of Grayville, you'll have to look that one up yourself. I'd suggest http://maps.yahoo.com ... then enter Grayville, IL. (EDIT: Out of my own curiosity, I looked up Grayville, which it turns out is nowhere near the Mississippi River. It is at the opposite side of the state, on the banks of the Wabash. There is no bridge in the town itself, but Interstate 64 is just a small distance to the south. I-64 crosses the Mississippi at St. Louis.
