how did the muslims come into contact with china, italy and greece?

This happened mostly through trade. There were the ancient "Silk Roads" between Europe and China for many generations before Islam began. Trade continued and Muslims got control of some of the trade through their territories. This trade necessitated contact among people of different cultures. The "Crusades" added to the contact.

I'm not exactly sure, but here is my educated guess: The muslims could've come into contact with China, Italy, and Greece by exploring new land, trade, or spreading their religion. That was my guess. Hope it is right!
