I am currently a junior in high school. I don't take any honors or AP classes in high school. However, I get staight A's on my report card. Doesn't it look better to get A's in standrad classes than a C in an honors classes, or do colleges really care a lot about honors classes? Will some colleges automatically reject if you haven't taken honors classes!?

I have to write an essay for this college...I really really want to get accepted, so I need help! Here is what I am supposed to write about in the essay:

"..write a brief essay on what you hope to accomplish in (career), and how (name of college) will help you achieve your goals."

So I've started writing, but I have a question. I was wondering if it would be ok to include in the essay what made me decide to pursue this career.. is it ok to include this brief background, or not, since the topic does not mention anything about that? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

I recently bought the Barton's book which has helped me alot.

I was wondering how many words some of you learned. There is over 3500 words to learn but I've been memorizing the 333 that it suggested and ever word that I don't know in the examples of all books I have.

I don't think I get the whole 3500 words but I was wondering if what I was doing would be fine.

Any ideas?

Ok so i HATE HATE HATE winter and I'm starting to think about colleges. I really wanna get away from this freezing cold winter but i'd also like to stay on the east coast. Obviously I could just move to California and escape the cold but I don't want to be that far away. Can anyone reccomend some good schools that are still on the east coast but have warmer weather.

I live in Hawaii, USA and want to go to a school in Australia. Not being a resident makes it quite expensive. If I were to have a job that could transfer there I could work until I can claim residency. I have plans for renewable energy engineering at New South Wales University.
