I've been looking into alternatives to U. of Georgia since i dont think ill get into there (3.4 GPA w/ honors/ap classes and 1200 SAT), so I've looked into this mysterious "Third" big research university in Georgia, Georgia State University. ( I dont want to go to Tech either, i have even less a chance there than at UGA)

Anyway from what I've seen, GA State is a research university in the heart of downtown Atlanta. It has some housing (the 1.5 mile away GSU village) and a few other buildings witha whooping 4,500 rooms. But Im worried.

If i dont go to UGA, I may end of going to GA State. What is it like here? Is it a prestigious school? Will I meet other people like me (frat Abercrombie/Pacsun athlete/party-studying balancing but doesnt play D1 sports or quite play a violin guys/girls)? Is there a cool social scene? Is it a good school for a Biology/Pre-Dentistry degree?

Any suggestions of any other large (15k+), public, prestigious U's, in the south, I'd like them.

I'm a junior, who is just beginning to look into colleges. While I'm not at all sure what I want to focus on in college, one of my interests is in English (and particularly creative writing, fiction and non-fiction) and I was wondering what small liberal arts colleges were strong in this area...

I am trying to get a PhD in history but am a little worried about the college distance. Once I am done with my two year MA classes, is it necessary to stay near school? Can one do research and anything else needed somewhere else?

I am taking Gen Chem 2 and Organic 1 at the same time. I am also taking genetics. So it is a full load + 3 labs. I am now struggling as the course load is too much for me and I have made up my mind that I need to drop a course. I will keep Genetics as I need it. Now the choice is left between Gen Chem 2 and Organic 1. Which one should I drop? I never realized I would be in such a big mess. I did very bad on the first Organic exam really bad! Can you please suggest me which one to drop ?

For example, I am writing a paper about domestic violence and I am using this webpage: http://www.menstoppingviolence.org/LearnMore/FactsAboutViolence.php

Which has some stastics that I want to use, however I am not sure how I cite this in text? As the webpage, or as the statistic.

I am looking for a list that shows best college records for colleges/universities that graduate black males-that is-black males graduate with a degree rather than drop out.

I'm a doctoral student doing some preliminary research. If you are a female and attended college at some point and did NOT graduate, give me one or two reasons why you chose to leave before graduating. Serious responses only, please. Thank you.

I have a Bachelor in Business Admin and need a career change BADLY b/c I am very unhappy working in the financial industry (have been unhappily working in this industry for over 5 years). I am seriously considering becoming a nurse but am reading many discouraging things in my research. Here are some questions/concerns:

1. Is it that difficult to get into a nursing program? I read 1000's of applicants try to get into program with maybe 60 seats.

2. Do you need to have a high GPA to get into these programs? I have an undergrad GPA of 3.0

3. Is the courseload to become an RN ridiculously hard? I am OK at science but know I will be able to get through it if I work very hard and put 110% effort into it

4. If you are a nurse, do you enjoy what you do?

I'd love to hear from nursing students or current nurses.

The choices are:

growth of nominal GDP, growth of real GDP, growth of real GDP per capita, and growth of national income.

I don't think that nominal GDP grows.

I am leaning to believe that the growth of the national income is the correct answer.

Please list your qualifications for answering this question.

Am I crazy to think that degrees can be earned by a student studying a specialty under a expert in that field using a curriculum that is constantly updated by the technical experts in that field. Say a person who wishes to be a doctor would get a job in a hospital or as a paramedic and study medicine from the ground level up. There would be a list of tests that that person must take to show that they learned the skill. Can we do it the way that they used to do it before their where universities. The way we learn now is outdated.

I am a military accountant and I know that most of what I learned has been from asking questions to the technical experts.

Most high school students know how to write in html. They learned this without cracking one college text book.

All science books have the wrong info in regards to the solar system.

I'm working on a research paper for my Black Studies class. I've read a few articles and books on the impact of violence on children in urban settings. I want to see how conflict resolution is used in schools and if ican help lower the violence if utilized in the children's home neighborhood. Can someone assist me in the proper phrasing of the question for my thesis statement?
