They are valid. However, I've heard from some friends that went to Ross and St. George, they had some trouble finding residencies

I have a friend who's going to St. Geroge's Medical School in the Caribbean. He started about two months ago. He tells me that his school is just as challenging as his other friends going to Med. school in the U.S. His program is an accelerated 18 moths program (he will finish June 2008). Afterwards, he will be doing his rotations and practice in the states.

St. George's is the most competitive of the Caribbean medical schools (I think there's about 5 or 6 there) and it is not as expensive as med. schools in the U.S.

It wouldn't hurt doing your own research about those schools and see if they suit you.

my friend went to medical school in the Dominican Republic. He then had to take a test when he came back to the USA. They are cheaper than the US and yes they are valid but you must pass the test when you come here.
The Caribbean schools are cheaper but can be just as hard.
