Most people don't. The best Way to choose yours is to go through your college's catalog and see what interests you. Go to that department, talk to someone and pick up more literature about it. You can also go to the career section at your local library and browse through the books they have there. You may be surprised at what you find. For instance, say you want to go into teaching, but what kind of teacher do you want to be? The career books list the kinds of jobs available for someone in that field, the future outlook of that particular occupation, the current annual income for it and in some cases the classes you need to take to be prepared for that occupation.
What ever you do, don't get frustrated. It's not easy finding what you really want to do in life. And some people change their majors two and three times.
Good Luck!

Major in something you're interested in or something that will help you in whatever career you want. Also, remember that your major isn't set in stone--you can change it anytime before you graduate. You might have to take some extra classes, but if you find out you don't like your major, you don't have to stay with it.

You can always change your mind along the way so don't stress about what to pick. Pick something that you are good at and you love to do. Think about what you would like to be and what you need to major in order to pursue that job or dream.

You don't, until you've had a chance to take several courses in several areas of study. Then pick what sparks your passion. I think you have an inkling what seems right for you, so dive in and if it doesn't seem to "fit" then branch out. Talk to an advisor and perhaps that person can ask you the right questions to help you zero in on a course of study that fits your interest and abilities.
