I wished the worst on my chem teacher. Like I hoped he died in a car wreck etc..... but now Im taking it back.
Two days ago a professor from the math and science department from our university dropped dead of a heart attack before class. Wow I remember seeing this guy almost every other lab day. Never took a class from him but he seemed like a nice guy. So now Im kinda paranoid besides Im doing quite a bit better in this class. Anyway I was just wondering how it worked if your teacher dies suddenly in the middle of a semester, do they just drop that class for the semester or they immediately find a replacement? How do they tell the students what happened? Do they wait until the students show up in class the next day and say "Sorry guys your teacher died yesterday?" Just wondering.

I'm in my 3rd year of school, I have all the generals requirements out of the way and I can't decide on my major. I'd originally wanted to do accounting, then I thought teaching (elementary), which is great and all, but I don't know if I want to deal with all the regulations and garbage teachers have to deal with, like No Child Left Behind and stuff like that. I think there's a demand for teaching and accounting. I love dealing with numbers and financial stuff, so I'm thinking I might consider accounting again. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

it's fall. i'm a senior in highschool who needs to start looking into these things--fast! here are some of the questions i have:

-what's the difference in undergraduate and graduate?
-how do you know what a college is looking for grade-wise?
-how do you know what to include in your college essay?
-do you need a resume? if it's not required, is it a good idea to put on in anyway?
-any other advice? i'm just starting the search (thank god for collegeboard.com) and i really need some tips on this stuff...

I have started my fall semester at a community college for an A.P.S. degree in Fire service manangment. What my parents want me to do is finish my degree (it takes about 2 years) and then join the coast guard. I want to join the coast guard now though and finish while I am in the military. How easy is it to finish a degree while you are in the service? I know the benifits of a degree can be great, but I feel that I have a deep connection to the coast guard and Search and Rescue and rather not spend two years just of school.
