Higher Education (University +) - September 2006

I started in special education, but realize I don't want to be a special education teacher. I really enjoy writing, non-fiction only, but I know that the journalism job market is not as open or pays as well as education. I want to enjoy my college experience, but I also want a good paying job when I graduate. I am seriously considering changing my major to journalism,.

This quarter in college I am taking a small group communication course in which we are (shockingly!) required to form a small group and complete a presentation for our final. We are required to name our group and I'm just throwing out this question to see what fun and interesting names you guys can come up with! Thanks for your input! I need to search for a good school which uses english as a medium of instruction for furniture making and designing. Its ok even if it is in based in Europe, Asia, or America. At least, it would teach me the technicalities and designing of furniture. I badly needed that degree to folllow my passion for my career in the future.

Who can recommnend a good method / course on speed reading. I'm a good reader and can pump out 80 pages an hour in a novel and maybe half that in text book. But I'm looking at 12-15 texts per semester next year and I've got to get some shortcuts down.
