I was watching a special which stated that some people owe up to $80,000 in student loans.

May I ask, if you have a loan, how much is it?

If this question is too personal, I apologize.

I found a college I like but when I went to fees and tuition it just had one tuition fee. I would be an out of state student and was expecting it to cost more as it did for another college I looked at. I thought that all colleges had an out of state student fee and instate student fee. Am I wrong?

The net income of Simon and Hobbs, a department store, decreased sharply during 2000. Carol Simon, owner of the store, anticipates the need for a bank loan in 2001. Late in 2000, Simon instructs the store's accountant to record a $10,000 sale of furniture to the Simon family, even though the goods will not be shipped from the manufacturer until January 2001. Simon also tells the accountant not to make the following December 31, 2000 adjusting entries:

Salaries owed to employees: $900
Prepaid insurance that has expired: $400

Why is Simon taking this action? Is her action ethical? Give your reason, identifying the parties helped and the parties harmed by Simon's action.

Some graduate schools require a 3.0 in the major; mine is just 2 tenths short of that goal. I'm not asking to go to Ivy league universities; just any university in the Southern Cal. area. I would like to be a college history lecturer at a jr. college and a master's degree in history would do quite nicely.

How do I accomplish the goal of getting accepted into graduate school (talking Cal State U. schools here) or should I just give up on my dream and forget about it?

This is both a reply and a question to those discussing the degree in linguistics! I too am intrested in this! My family comes from Norway, and I speak fluent Norwegian, and I spent 6 months in Russia, so I speak somewhat good Russian. I have a passion for languages. I know I can not really use my Norwegian professionally, based on the fact only 5 million people use it, but I love Russian. What training would you need to be a proffess. translator? What degrees? Linguistics? Let me know.\
