Just asking because it looks like I'll be finishing in 2 1/2 years, and I wanted to know if anybody else has finished quickly also and whether you think it hurt your college experience. I go to the University of Michigan.

I spent 9 years after high school before completing a university degree. I spent 3 years in a 2 year technical program at the city college level by adding on general education requirements for transfer after the fact. I then went on to a (serial) double major which in turn led to an interest in science and medicine, and then "premed" prerequisites which were all completed over the next 6 years prior to graduation. I then did a year of bench research, 4 years of medical school, 5 years of surgical training and a year of advanced surgical training after that. I'm now a surgeon and an instructor of surgery.

Consider how to proceed with education carefully. It's not just a means to an end. The process of nurturing intellectual curiosity and the development of skill sets with which to articulate one's thoughts and experiences, is painfully slow and rapidly perishable. Unless one actively seeks to maintain and cultivate these, they will evaporate.

Would leaving quickly hurt your "college experience" ? Probably. However, the real question is, "What role do you envision your 'college experience' playing in the rest of your life?"

It took me 5 years to get a 4 year degree. My first degree I earned in 2 years (an Associate Degree). Since many of my classes didn't transfer into upper college, I had some other classes to take. I also had 1 semester of Student Teaching. So, that put me back a semester.

Good for you for being diligent and finishing your degree early! That should be very impressive for future employers and Grad School if you choose that route.

5 1/2 but that was because, although is a good University, the administration sucks and you never find the courses you need to take. It is really frustating to see that you are finishing so quickly, but don't misunderstand me, Congratulations! It's good to know that in some institutions care about the students and want them to finish they degree... I went to University of Puerto Rico

Been working on mine since the Fall of 1967.

I keep getting interested in classes that have nothing to do with the degree.
