My sophmore year of college just started. I am taking quite a load of classes this semester and I feel really stressed out.

I feel nervous and I constanly fear the fact that I can fail a class. Am I going over the edge with my emotions and being too worrysome? Everyone around me seems really calm and relaxed at class.

Is it ok to be stressed out in the beginning of my sophmore year of college?

I'm currently a senior and i'm going to apply to colleges soon. I just landed a job. It pays really well too! $8.50 an hour. but there are quite a lot of hours. Its inteferring with my waterpolo practices and game schedule and my swim practices and meets. What do colleges want to see? Job experience or dedication to waterpolo? (i've played water polo for five years and swam for eight.)
My friends tell me that i'll be working for the rest of my life and should just play water polo.. but i don't know. HElp me please!!

I'm currently attending a community college and I am taking Spanish 1. I do plan to later on transfer to a university. I was talking to this lady and she said that a foreign language might not be a requirement for a UC Transfer. I want to go to UC Irvine.

Also, how long does it take to complete all of my generals and then transfer. I'm currently taking three classes, English 101, Math 125, and Spanish 1. I just want to check if I am on the right track. I'm completely dumbfounded. Thank you. Much appreciated.

Obviously, there are many other factors that contribute to one's application being accepted or rejected by a university, but i am interested in the general public's view of how much there GPA in high school had an affect on what school they got accepted into and if that has had a significant influence over your life after college. Is GPA insignificant, or is it crucial in your life after high school?

Maybe because I'm 23, and maybe because I did the whole drinking thing when I was 18, but I cannot stand the culture of my school. It seems that nobody cares about anything except drinking!!! I mean, drinking can be fun, but isn't there more to life? And all the girls talk like valley girls... it's like so totally annoying.. oh my god!

By this, I mean, a girl on Girls Gone Wild, pictures of underage drinking on Facebook, just about anything short of a criminal record. I know that Facebook is something that people need to be careful with now, since employers are scoping out applicants on the site.

Currently have an MS in engineering. When I was in school I always thought...hell no...not going to do a phd. But after working for 2 years, its really not sounding so bad.

As far as career prospects. Would a Phd limit me too much? Another reason I'm scared about a Phd, is that I feel a Phd degree will narrow your potential field greatly...while the MBA degree seems to be a much more diverse degree.

I'm not sure whether to be practical or inquistive?

Those 3 schools, again Notre Dame, NYU, and Purdue, I really want to go to. 3.91 GPA, 2 Clubs for 3 years, and played Volleyball for 4 years. Also, I have like 300 community service hours. Is that good enough? And plus, what is considered the "good" amount of clubs you should join and GPA and community service hours? Thanks to all who are concerned...

Can somebaody explain the whole process? And is it better to just stay and get more classes, even if you have all the required credits? -What do colleges want? Also, where do i go to decide what college I want to go to? How did you choose? Did you just say "Oh, I like their football team, i'll go there!"

I'm taking Nonprofit accounting online. I've been having problems between bridging the gap of understanding and applying the information in the book. The book gives real general descriptions of different funds with no examples. Then for the homework it gives really descritptive questions in which you are to apply the real broad information to and tell which fund it is. I've been to the free accounting tutoring service, and they pretty much told me they have no experience in Nonprofit accounting and gave me the answer book to copy the answers which have no explanation. I'm to the point where I don't feel like I'm learning what I should be and I don't have any other ideas to help me better understand these definitions of funds, should I drop? Sorry if I sound crazy but I'm about at the point where I'm pulling my hair out. lol
