I'm currently attending a community college and I am taking Spanish 1. I do plan to later on transfer to a university. I was talking to this lady and she said that a foreign language might not be a requirement for a UC Transfer. I want to go to UC Irvine.

Also, how long does it take to complete all of my generals and then transfer. I'm currently taking three classes, English 101, Math 125, and Spanish 1. I just want to check if I am on the right track. I'm completely dumbfounded. Thank you. Much appreciated.

Foreign language is required at UC universities, but if you don't complete both classes you need then you can take it at Uc Irvine.

The easiest way of getting all of the classes you need is to just complete the IGETC. I'm not sure what you are majoring in , but some of your classes will go towards your major and completing the IGETC. It really doesn't take that long to complete either, and once you are done all of your general ed classes will be completed.
It is a good idea to talk to a councelor at your school.

I don't think so. If you took foreign language in Hisg school you should be okay. Call your their couselors to find more info. I was accepted to a UC with you foreign language, I only took 2 years of French in High School.

Out in California i think you gotta take at least conversational English, unless the Aztlan officials rule otherwise.
