I recently applied to a major university and I applied to begin in the Fall of 2007. I recently found out that my application has been scheduled for review and may already be under review by an Admissions Officer. How long does it normally take to receive an answer of acceptance or denial at this stage? They initially said it could be up to 12 weeks, but that's only near deadlines and the fact that my status has been reflected so quickly tells me that's its moving right along. Does anyone have any guesses?

I'm an English major, and I'll be graduating in May. If I take the test now, I won't have much time to study. If I don't take it within the next two or three months, I'll miss the application deadlines for Fall 2007. I'm a good student, but I'm not very good at organizing my life. I don't know what to do...

knowledge is power, if you're hungry for the illusion of that kind of power.

I've noticed that there are a number of individuals, who will post gobs and gobs of text from an unknown source, simply because they can not articulate an answer in their own words.

Also there are some people who think that just dropping in a link to another site that may or may not have the answer is the solution to the question.

Are these people just lazy or naive?

Why is it so difficult, to post an answer in your own words as you might interpet your sources of information. If you're right and your reply makes sense, then you may get the 10 point reward.

If you're just going to pollute with gobs of pointless text or useless links that only distract me from my question, especially if they are phony links with nothing to do at all with my question. Why even bother replying to a question. Just type yes or no and move on, if you have to.

Does having a college education *really* help in getting a higher paying job? I ask this because (I am in college now), but it seems to me that a lot of people who have struggled through college either wind up with crappy jobs, or worse, no job at all. Whereas some guy with only a high school degree is making big bank. So, is this true?

I have a form of learning disability called 'dyscalculia'. I never took my SATs because of my low math score. Do colleges look at individual scores in certain subjects? I don't want to be denied a college education because of my learning disability.

Oh my God am I having the tougest time in college right now! I'm a freshman, obviously, and I commute. The amount of writing, note taking, and especially reading is too much for me. This will make it impossible for me to get a job-in fact, I barely have enough time to do my homework on days that I don't work! Please do not even attempt to answer if all you're going to say is something like, "that's the way it is-deal with it." I'm seriously stressing out and I don't think I can handle this. Help me before I drop out!

HELP! I have a lot of areas of interest, and I am good at all of them! I'm not looking for someone to tell me what to do with my life, I just want some advice from someone who is SUCCESSFUL that felt the same way I do when they were deciding what to do with their life. What helped you decide, how did you know what was best for you, and are you happy now?
