You should make a list of things that are most important to you when it comes to college - do you want to be close to home or far away from home? Do you want to go and focus focus focus on your academics or do you want great social aspects as well? Do you know what you want to major in or do you need a little more time to figure that out? Be honest with yourself too, that's very important. Being far away from home is harder than you would think -- I moved 1,000 miles away from everyone I know, by myself, from a town of 400 to Denver, CO. If you want to focus purely on academics, and you know what you want to major in, look online to see what college is the best for that major. If you want both and you want to stay somewhat close to home, go to a state school -- it's cheaper and most state schools are big enough to offer a wide range of programs and a large number of social activities. If you don't know what you want to do, definitely go to a bigger school, not a private school. State schools offer career samplers that you can take, and you might like one of the classes enough to major in it. Sorry for the long answer, but I think you need to look at more than just academics, and more than just social aspects to pick a college that's good for you. You need to find a good combination of everything you want.

the best college or university, is the one that offers you the academics you seek for your career. If you want to be a military officer, then join West Point, don't limit your choices based on gender. Go where you will learn what you are most interested in. Good Luck!

If this is as much as information about yourself (none except your gender) as you are going to provide to answer this question, then I think you are not ready for college.

Depends a lot on what your course of study is going to be. If you are out to catch a mate just about any of them will work!
