It is normal to give yourself a break here and there to relieve yourself from all that pressure and stress from college. But if you want to be in college you have to be commited to what your doing and realize it's no fun and games. You can't have two things at the same time so that means there has to be some sacrifices made. I have been in your position where I want to go out and have fun with my friends also, but my school is much more important. I rather get the grades, graduate, and have fun with a clear head then have fun and then regret not studying. Think about your future that you wan't to grasp on, that's what motivates me.

yes, it's like you did all that studying and test preparation in HS only to be sacked with a ton of the same stuff (only harder) in college. Also, college life is more autonomous - you can skip class, make your own study hours, choose your own classes - so it's easy to slack off BUT you will regret it come exam time.

If you can, take a semester off or part-time or just take a lighter course load for awhile. Get involved in stuff outside of your studies (sports, activities, a laid-back part time job). You need to take a breather somehow and probably will get your second wind to go back and finish up your studies with some direction and enthusiasm.

Maybe college isnt for you, or you might be depressed. BE aware that sometimes the peopel around you Act lazy and study in secret. There is something called the 'sophmore slump' that kicks in when you realize over half the nation has a degree and no one gave them a great job either.

haha im a university student and im kinda in the same boat...i just worked my a s s off this summer and now im going back to school to drink, go to school and have tons of fun...its hard to get motivated but i find staying busy is the best way to not get lazy, occasionally its nice to lay around all day but not everday, it gets unhealthy...i like to work out or just take a bike or car drive to keep me from getting too lazy...i definetly know what you mean though

Freshman year is hard for a lot of reasons. I did miserably my first year & did great after that. It took me a year to learn how to study.

You need to force yourself to do this. Your earning power is going to be a lot higher with a degree than without one.

Don't worry about having a major. Lots of people don't know what they want to do when they get out. You have four years to decide on something.

sometimes, because they have to walk all over campus so they are worn out, college is no picnic.
