Of course.
If you want to be someone go for it.
You might even become famous because of it!

I strongly say YES, if you are willing you can achieve it if there is a well supplied university, and you could look forward on your ambition to be specialized for hearing imparied children. Wish you all the best.

Finally, I've got a good example in middle east especially in one of the Gulf countries which is Kuwait, a hearing imparied female doctor.

=)

Yes, there are deaf doctors out there. When I was in college, I knew of a deaf medical student at UCLA. There's no reason you can, all obstacles can be overcome. There is always a way around things. Follow your heart, you create your own desinty. Your life is an empty canvas and you the painter.

If you want to study medicine go for it. It might be difficult to work with people, especially since you need to communicate with them. So unless you read lips really well, maybe you could do some type of medical research work. Or don't they have special schools for deaf children? Maybe they would need a doctor there and that way you could all talk in sign language to each other.

Definitely yes, because , to be a doctor well patients tell their symptoms and you check them and finally a diagnosis is made and drugs prescribed. But to be a pediatrician kids cannot tell what is happening to them you have to find out the causes and look very minutely what is wrong where and why ,for this keen observation dedication towards your duty and yes passion is very very essential . So now you tell me whether you have this in you or not and answer your own question.

I am an RN and was recently hospitalized for a kidney infection. The Hospitalst, the doctor who was the primary physician for me, was speech/hearing impaired and shy. Sometimes it was difficult to communicate with him. However, it was his personality not his speech/hearing deficit. When he met my eye and smiled, we clicked.

My point is I definitely feel it is possible and I found a successful way to reach out with communications is to be warm and friendly and caring.

ABSOLUTELY! You have a huge barrier to overcome, but think of the people you can help. Not only can you be of assistance to the deaf community, you can also educate the hearing by overcoming this obstacle.

If a midget can become a surgeon (which has happened), I don't see why you couldn't be a pediatrician. You could specialize in kids with hearing loss and show them that they can do anything that they put their minds to!
Go for it!

By all means GO FOR IT!!!! I have a deaf step-sister that has done wonderful things with her life. She has not let being deaf get in her way. Just think you can have a special bond with children who are deaf too. Don't let being deaf stand in your way.
