I am a single mother of 4 boys and I am taking online classes with the University of Phoenix. I am getting a pell grant of about $1800 a year. There has got to be another way to get more money to help pay for my education. Can you let me know what it is?

I het financial aid to attend college at edinboro university. I was told by a multitude of friends that there is a way to get your financial aid to pay for an apartment instead of a dorm. I was just wondering if any body knows how this works?

I was an international student until a week ago, and now I'm eligible for subsidized federal loans. For the past two years I have been taking unsubsidized private loans and have been paying LIBOR+1-3%. I would like to refinance my loans to subsidized loans now that I am eligible, but am wondering if I can subsidize previous years loans.

Thanks

we (here Parents) still claim her and get money back? We had someone else file our taxes this yr and they told us that she would get more money back all together if she filled single and her college. Well my daughter already got her big check in the mail for around 800 and I got a letter from the IRS, that there was some typos and a check only for 63 dollars and we owe the federal 186. Is there anyway we can still claim our daughter since she still lives at home? Will we get more money back?? Im so stressed out. Anything will help!

i live in a super small community
most of the ppl are my cousins (really about 50%)
the references calls for a person in my community
the ppl i know are janitors/work in fast food and any other ppl don't know me well enough
i'd get a pastor to do it, but i have been so busy with school that i haven't been to church in a loooooong time
CAN I GET AN EX-TEACHER TO WRITE IT?

THESE ARE THE DIRECTIONS:
Two letterws of recommendation. one must be from a school official and another one from a member of the community (outside of your family). you can use the person reference for provided with the application or you can use your own reference form format.

i'm almost a hermit...i only know teachers that teach at the school....i'm really a nerd...can an teacher who used to teach me do this???
i believe i can really win this scholarship. it is the reference part that is kicking my butt.

Me and my boyfriend have just bought a house. The mortgage is gonnabe about 700 a month and he pays about 700 a month on all his debts which he accumulated whilst he was at university. He only gets paid 1400 a month and we have one child and one on the way. Now, you may think buying a house was silly but....our mortagage advisor told us to get a mortgage and then consolidate his debts because consolidating them first would give him bad credit and we would then be unable to buy a property. Im just wondering whether debt consolidation is an easy process though and something which most people are accepted onto. Im worried about being responsible for a home and stuck with his debt as well???!!! Has anyone been in this situation?

OK, due to an error @ the university, and paperwork processing fubars.... My hubby needs $7500.00, in additional financial aid before next week. If we can't come up with the $, he'll have to postpone starting grad-school in August. His grad-program only does fall admissions, and waiting another year will seriously impact all kinds of things. The loans & aid for grad-school in the fall are all set. But to finish his last few courses, accelerated, we need to obviously pay for tuition.... Any suggestions? We didn't qualify for Plus or Perkins loans, and his stafford's maxed out as of monday.... Direct/alternative student loans, so far aren't working.... They won't lend to us, for whatever reason, (they'll notify us in writing within 5-8 weeks) No cosigners available. We both work, but have extenuating financial obligations. I have good, but minimal credit. His isn't all that great.
Banks won't lend to us for tuition loans... They said we should qualify for student loans... Any advice?

We live in California. My husband recently was laid off and awarded unemployment benefits. He's planning to sign up for full-time vocational school. I heard that once you report to the EDD you have begun training or school, they will discontinue your benefits. Is this true?

I thought this was how much I was going to have to contribute per year but it says on the website that it is NOT how much you have to contribute and it's only used to calculate how much assistance you get depending on how much your school costs to attend. I'm just attending community college (it's $73.50 per credit hour) and I'm planning on going full time (12 credit hours). About how much am I going to have to pay if my EFC is 5199?? Anyone know?
