Could anyone help me find scholarship or grants? My mom makes to much money to qualify for anything in the FASFA, even some student loans. But she doesn't have enough money to help me with college. Since I'm not over 25, married, or a veteran I have to include her income. I live 3 hours away from her and am definitely no longer a dependent but I don't qualify for anything because I have to use her income. I’ve tried going through the schools financial aid department and they all tell me that I don’t qualify. If I can, I would like to find something I don’t have to pay back, any suggestions?

I am really in need of a student loan, but there is no way I can get a cosigner and I have no established credit. I have already done the fafsa, but I am not getting enough money through that for all my expenses. Does anyone know of any loans that I could get without a cosigner and no credit. Again I am looking for loans that will pay more than just a 1,000 dollars, so just the fafsa alone will not work.

My fiancée and mother of my child passed away recently and I am in the process of filing a wrongful death suit on my daughter's behalf. If I do receive a settlement could it affect my eligibility for financial aid being that I'm still in college?

i just got a federal student loan and i received more money than i needed (but i wasnt sure how much id need at the time) so now that i have the check from whats leftover can i pay that back to the company on my loan before it starts collecting more interest...also i plan on paying all of the interest while in school but was wondering if im also able to pay extra while in school without penalty and is this going to apply to the principal?
also ive seen websites on consolidating student loans and making 1 payment... this made me wonder why someone would need to consolidate student loans?what would cause you to have multiple student loans? is thi something thats based on having multiple lenders, schools, type of loans (sub or unsub.)etc... basically i am trying to understand why youd be billed seperately on loans because i would like to avoid this now so i wont have to worry about consolidating later. any insight would help =] thanks

I'm a pre-med student. I am planning on doing a semester exchange, but there is no way my parents can cover the expenses so I decided to get a loan. The thing is that pre-med= studying for many years, and if I get an unsubsidized loan, i'm worried I'll be buried on interests by the time i'm able to pay for it.

This year I received a total of 10,800 between financial aid, pell grant and federal loan...I am not resident of the state I am attending University, my question is:

Next year when I apply again will they give the same amount? Or will they consider that I will be a resident and deduct some amount because I will have to pay less because of my resident status?

Thank you in advanced for your answers.

I feel like I am going to have a anxiety attack about entering nursing?
school. I am attending a expensive private school this far, and hae taken out 14,000 inloans already. I still have 3 years left. I am nervous if I fail out my life will be ruined. I want it but sometimes I dont have a lot of confidence, and this is my worst enemy. I hear stories about people failing out. Any R.N.s advise for someone who was always an average student not great at math.

I was approved for a $10,000 private loan for college. The thing is, they don't send the funds directly to the student but to the financial aid department. The school year I put on the form was for August 2007 - May 2007 but I should be graduating this December. Will I receive the extra money after they pay my tuition or will the school office send it back to Sallie Mae or will they give me some of it and keep the rest? I was approved today for the loan, how long does it take for Sallie Mae to disburse the funds to the school and for me to actually get them? Any other information that can be provided an helpful would be great. Thanks!

Hey everyone, i have just got done enrolling in college and recieved financial aid through the fafsa and everything is taken care of, but i was counting on getting a reund check for the amount of one of the loans that i might have not needed the whole thing for school, i needed it for transportation as well as supplies and living expenses, knowing that i already recieved financial aid from the fafsa is their any way i can still apply for a student loan or grant that doesnt require a credit check that will be money i can use for the things mentioned above. It might sound wierd but my sister and a friend of mine attended college and after doing the financial aid they both got checks back for whatever amount it was but that was money they recieved from financial aid and was the difference of what they didnt need for school, well i didnt get so lucky, i got exactly what i needed but was wondering if their was something else i could fill out to get more!! Thanks in advance!

i applied for fafsa and I know I will qualify, but the proccess weas delayed. So what the finacial aid office told me to do was to pay in cash first and when my financial aid kicks in. they'll give it back to me. But a friend of mine who was told the same thing last year, said that they are lying. They just want you to pay them, and that they will find reasons not to pay you back. Is this true?

i qualified with a degree in june. im unable to find any job in my area or surrounding areas and so went on social welfare - jobseekers allowance for the time being. i have decided to return to college this september to carry out further education in a part time course, 2 days a week. the problem is there still isnt any jobs suitable for my degree. i would rather volunteer and build up my experience which will stand me me more rather than work in a weekend type of job. i know that you cant be on social welfare if you are in full time education. but basically i cant get a job unless i move away, and the college is local. so as the course is part time, are there any benefits or entitlements i can get just to get me through the college year, besides a college grant...
