Has anybody ever started college in your 30's? If so what did you major in? How long did it take you to complete your degree? Did you get a better job once you got the degree?

okay, so i failed grade 9 english 2 years ago, now im stuck taking it again this year, im good at english, but i find it boaring :S ( confusing) which is why i never show up for that that class, so i missed our short storys unit, now im screwed coz i have to hand in a bunch of questions based on those storys tomorrow, so i guess im asking that if you know ANYTHING about ANY of the following short storys, could you please, tell me ex. what is it about, maybe word for word what happens, lol jokes, basically just an outline of the story. lol i'll give you 10 points( well to ever was the most helpful,) in the mean time im going to look it up

This question is for those that are going through what I am, and for those that are finally in peace with what they chose to study/do. Basically, I am a person who's extremely open-minded. I ask too many questions, and love to constantly learn. Being a senior in high school right now, is a time where one should be thinking about what they want to get into. For me, I have been thinking about this ever since I was a little girl. I think about my future all the time. However, I could NEVER see myself wanting to study one thing, and one thing only. There are SO many degrees out there that I would love to obtain. I am someone that loves change, and someone who doesn't know what to do in the future. So, my question is: what kind of advice do you offer for someone like me, and is there anything at all that could help me with finding what I could go into?

*I want to become a teacher of English (High School level 11 or 12th graders). However, I'd also like to teach Journalism. I want English to be my major teaching focus though...

What should my major in college be? What can I do to prepare for my future career? I was thinking I could intern at a local elementary school as I complete my senior year of High School.

I have to write a 3-page story that has something to do with an epidemic. It could be completely fictional, so the epidemic doesn't necessarily have to be the flu or something normal like that. The story needs to have a moral, rising action, and falling action. I want the protagonist to be a girl named Susie. I can't think of an antagonist. Anyone have any plot ideas?

I didn't get to graduate due to the loss of a loved one, set me in a downward spiral because I didnt' know how to handle it and now I wan't to go back. The problem is that I don't have the money to pay for a new course and I have to start paying back my student loan. I already used osap and don't think that I can get it again as I am working full time and my fiance is also. We just had a baby and she is on maternity leave which is cutting her pay so the income I make is needed. I really need out of my current job now due to the stress levels, it is making me miserable but I don't see any other options. Is school an option for me or am I stuck?

I am a sophmore, I get straight As. I am taking all honor classes, and I will be taking All AP classes that are availabe to me next year. I am a wrestler and I volunteer every week 3 hours. I am in Key Club and Youth Government club. I know I need to get at least a 2300 on my SAT and write a damn good essay but what other extra curricular activities can I do?

I have 60K in student loans. 30K in private loans and another 30K in federal loans.

Right now, I only make 25K a year but my employeer is paying for my master's degree.

How can I possibly pay all this money back w/o being broke every month. Right now, I live with my parents. But, eventually, I would like to move out.

I have a car payment, plus other bills/insurance etc.......

I think I can afford about $400 a month. But, that will take me about 12-13 years to pay off. That's way too long. I'd like to pay them all off within 5-7 years.

What do people think? How can I make this possible.

Getting a second job is out. I already work full-time and attend school at night.

This question is for preschool teachers who have an associates degree only.

Did you have trouble getting a job? How much do you make on average? Do you teach at a public or private preschool and why do you like it? Are there any benefits (like free or half priced tuition if it's a private school)?

Again, this is only for teachers with an associates because thats what I am going for. I live in PA and thats all you need.
