I'm looking for a name of a literary device: it involves talking about something by claiming not to talk about it. For example, "I won't bore you with the details of her public service, how she rescued four kids from a burning building; I won't mention the countless hours she has spent every day pulling weeds in the hot sun." Is there a word for this or have I gone mad?

I swear, I've got yearbook-copy-block or something. I've spent the last hour staring at the computer, trying to think of something. Okay, well the senior class is very small, like 35 kids. We have had a new principal (so new rules) and a bunch of new teachers. But I can't think of much else to say!

So far I've got:

"2007-2008 was undeniably a remarkable year. There was a new principal, new rules, and new teachers … several new teachers. There was more excitement, more laughs, and more drama than ever."

If you can think of anything else to put besides "laughs", that would also be appreciated.

I also have some notes about maybe saying something like:

"big thinks come in small packages"
"these are our next doctors and lawyers, teachers and ??? .... "
"they're a close-knit family, friends forever"

But I can't think of any way to tie it all up together!! It doesn't have to be long, either Or if you know of a website to help get the brain juices flowing, I'd be grateful!

'recreate' is the verb from which we get "recreation", but we rarely use it in that form do we?

"Hey what are you up to today?"
"this afternoon I'm going to recreate."
"wow that sounds like fun!"

does anyone use the word recreate like this? the form of the word is more commonly used in the context of re-creating something, like a battle scene in a movie re-creates the images and sounds etc.

does it lead to confusion with the word procreate?

It appears that a bachelor degree is not enough anymore to guarantee a permanent job with benefits and sustainable wage. There is even more uncertainty with a graduate degree. Are institutions too generous in awarding degrees? Are there too many colleges today? Too many online programs? Receiving a bachelor degree used to be an elite achievement but now is seems like they are too readily available.
