And please don't waste time with answers such as "Unless it is legally registered you are just wasting time." I just didn't know which of those would be the appropriate one to use after a title.

My daughter is hard working, and intelligent and has maintained a GPA of 3.9, she appeared in MCAT last month but because of poor testing conditions in the examination hall (I have officially lodged a complaint about it with MCAT authorities) , she could get only 23 aggregate in MCAT. Do you think she stands any chance to get in medical school anywhere ,or she should just not apply this year and should start preparing for the next year?

I had fin aid from my school but I haven't been awarded any for this year. I pay out of state tuition and I don't want to leave the total burden of that on my parents. Plus, my rent went up for the year and my job just doesn't cover it.

Several years ago, I had a black acquaintance whose daughter attended a school with mostly black students. I remember talking to the daughter about her classes one day, and I found some of what she told me disturbing. Well, for starters, the daughter told me that their classes changed from semester to semester rather than from year to year. What was disturbing, though, was what she told me about her geography studies. Apparently, they had been studying each and every country in Africa since school had started in August. If I remember correctly, this conversation took place in September or October. I wonder when they were planning to cover Asia, Africa, the Americas, Australia, and Antarctica! Not only that, but I also glanced through her math textbook. Not only did it deal with math, but it also had boxes that had fun facts about black culture! I'm sure they were interesting, but what did they have to do with math? Don't get me wrong. I think it's important to learn about the world

Well i'm currently in community college getting basics out the way but i don't know if I can go directly to Texas A&M. I have 28 credits and they only require 24 but all the classes I chose arn't under my major (blame my dad for that one). I have a 3.9 gpa at my community college and a decent high school transcript. Their deadline is march so i'd have to wait a whole year to apply again if i took some classes next spring. Do you think i can get in? Thanks in advance.

I've heard that some schools have a "zero tolerance" policy in which even children who defend themselves will be punished. Why? Why should the victims of bullying be punished for defending themselves? If anything, self-defense should be encouraged.

Growing up I worked in a local pharmacy. I'm kicking myself for not going to pharmacy school. I just remembering thinking they didn't make that much money and the job didn't seem too exciting. I thought they made $50k or so back around 1990. Now RPH's are making $100k+. When did the salary/market for RPHs change?

My original idea was to do a magazine, but someone else is doing that. Now the idea for a calander was brought up and someone else has it. I'm running out of ideas!?!

The very minute I walked into the room, I knew it was going to be one of "those" classes. The prof. had the desks in a circle, and he talked about "sharing experiences" and "eye contact"...yes, one of those "fuzzy tree hugging classes". It is a master's level class - but I wanted something challenging and interesting. The prof. drones on and on, I don't think his notes are his own (he keeps on stumbling over his "own" words, and he can't explain many of the LCD slides). The first assignment is "My life story" (worth 20% of the course...yeah right!)

So, am I wasting my time? Should I give it a chance? I am really broke and had trouble getting the money together for this (almost $700). Today is the last day to drop the course and get my money back. What would you do?

Hello,
I'm French so sorry for the mistakes.
I'm a student at university and I would like to become a teacher of the English language.
My own experience tells me that language teachers do get a foreign accent when they speak their mother tongue.
So here are some questions about that:
How to get a foreign accent (I mean permanently?
I mean, if I speak English for example 4 or 5 hours a day which will happen later on when I'm a teacher, is it "enough" to get an English accent in my native language?.

And another one:
How do you get rid of a particular accent, or try to take one accent?
This counts for short changes (films...) and for definitive alterations in one's accent.
I have a German accent in French which bothers me a lot, that's why I'm asking.

Do you think it's better to keep your original accent when yu are a language teacher?

My son is almost 4 and we can only understand (estimate) 65% of what he is saying. When he talks, I have to go through my mental rolodex to match the sentence with his life situation whether that the conversation is about his friends, school, snacks, etc so I can try to understand his wants and thoughts on something. His test scores aren’t suggesting services at this time. Why all the red tape when you can clearly hear there is a problem with his speech? I have to go to a board meeting next week to discuss the tests. Is there anyway, I can get him services through the school district without the test results? Why can’t they just listen to him to see there is a problem?

Is there really not that many left handed people? I've heard people say that lefties are smarter than righties? Is that true?
