How come they make things for right handed people but not left handed people? you know like notebooks the spiral is on the left. And its hard to write. Or like the mouse for your computer. Is there really not that many left handed people? I've heard people say that lefties are smarter than righties? Is that true?

Maybe I should look into a left handed notebook. My hand drags the paper and I get marker, pen, pencil or whatever I'm using alllll over my hand!

They do. Golf clubs, scissors, notebooks... just about everything.

Computer mice are available or somewhat programmable... Real Mice are left footed.

Left handers use the right (not necessarily correct) side of their brain. They are better at some things, but then all people are better at some things more than other things.

I'm right handed but have known an oddly high amount of lefties over the years. Probably 20-30% of people i've met. And my grandmother is amidexterous (well, before stroke).

They do make most objects for both dexterities, but i dont know about a notebook. The reason the spiral is on the left is because of the way we read: top down, left to right. It would just confuse people if it went the other way. They would always be trying to read it backwards. You could always just start at the back of a notebook though and work forwards.

What may help you in writing is tilting the top of your book to the right. That was one of the first things i was taught in kindergarden: righties turn the top of the book to the left, and lefties turn the top of the book to the right. It is just naturally more comfortable when you write. You arm is then inline with the orientation of the page. But most of the lefties i've know do the righty position and write from above the line instead of from below (the correct way). And then you won't get all the lead or ink on your hand from dragging it across the freshly written surface! It's just something for you to think about though.

Okay, with a spiral notebook, can't you just turn the page and write on the back of the sheet and fold the notebook the other way? These days most spiral notebook paper is perforated anyway so once its torn out it doesn't matter if its the front of or back of the paper. My daughter is left handed and yes she definitely has a high I.Q. but I can't say that its because she is left-handed. I've always heard they are smarter because they use a different part of their brain than right-handers therefore they are using more of their brain than the rest of us.

they do make left-handed mouse for the computer...u only need to change ur mouse settings to invert the buttons properties. as for the notebooks, i know its a pain, im a lefty myself. u might want to try notepads that have the spiral at the top instead. the reason why they only do the notebooks with the spiral at the left, its because the standard way to read and write in north america is from left to right, which is why they don't make notebooks that have the spiral to the right, as we would be opening it backwards and not reading it in order.

We southpaws only make up about 10% of the population, so, yeah, most things are made for righties. However, you can find many things designed specifically for lefties. Go to Google and search "left-handed," you'll find shops that specialize in lefty items including notebooks with spirals on the other side, etc.

The buttons on your computer mouse, btw, can be switched so that the "left-click" button is under your left index finger instead of under your middle finger. Personally, I find it just as easy to leave the buttons as they are. I've also learned to use the mouse with my right hand. In class, this leaves me free to operate the computer with my right hand and take notes with my left hand, something nothing of my right-handed classmates can do.

You are mostly right except for mice. In the control panel under mouse you can change the properties of the mouse to left handed. There definitely not enough stuff for lefties, and if you can find it, it costs a lot more. My dad bought a set of left handed golf clubs for 1 1/2 times the same set in right set. I am ambidextrous and the only things that are basically right handed that I can use left handed is tools.

Actually this is not true at all. There no element of inteligence bettwen righties & lefties. This just a habit of doing work whether it is wrighting or working in computer with mouse. Some people have doubt in ther mind about such people. Ancient Romans have the feeling about lefties that , they are influenced by the devils that's why they are lefty. So, they never look them with a good eye sight. They had a feeling of hatered & somesort of fear in their mind. So, don't do such things and clearing all doubts be equal to both lefties & righties. Hope you will understand.

There is not enough of a market for many left handed items for several reasons. There are fewer left handers but most are able to get by using items designed for righties. Also, stores would need to carry two of each item one for lefties one for righties. It is not worth the cost.

There are some niche companies that make certain objects just for left handed people but they tend to be pricey. Among those I have seen are scissors and computer mouses.

We think with the left side of our brain and use our right side for motor functions so a left handed person is always in their right mind.I believe most left handed people are very smart.Benjamin Franklin was left handed and so was Einstein . Many lefty's have earned fame and fortune and invented many things we can't live without today. It's an age old question-myself I think Lefty's are smarter -I'm told I'm biased because I'm left handed.Look through history though 75% of our presidents were left handed and many scientists are too.

Actually in this day and age you can get things specifically designed for left handed people and the mouse with software can be easily set up for the left hand. The problem is most of these things are more expensive then right handed stuff because most left handed people don't bother and there are fewer left handed people than right handed.

It is said that left handed people are more creative not smarter than right handed people. Probably because they had to be creative to deal with a right handed world.
