Any suggestions as far as editing, grammar or things I can also add to make it better....Thanks in advance!
Today’s exercise enabled us to become acquainted with one another in a very informal setting . This is quite often known as an “Ice- Breaker”. This particular activity was a fun way to learn about our classmates backgrounds and personalities. In this exercise we were to find a classmate who fit a specific description on the list given and then they were to sign the sheet of paper. Such descriptions included things like “is an only child” “is left handed”. The main point of the exercise was to get every classmate signature by making your way around the room.
At some point during the exercise, finding other classmates that matched a least one of your descriptions became difficult. Being that many people chose the same description , leaving other students to just pick left over descriptions. I really enjoyed getting to know my peers. It helped me to find students I had things in common with, therefore forming a few friendships with people in the classroom. Communication was key in today’s exercise even though the communication going on wasn’t that great in the sense of how much talking actually occurred.
The Ice breaker was the first of many steps to feeling fully confident with other classmates. Easing in with smaller audiences you trust will make it easier to speak in front of a more intimidating group of your peers later. Although many icebreaker activities are focused on helping participants get to know one another, they can also reveal who the class leaders might be, what skills and special abilities students possess, and how well students might work together. These activities are fun ways to learn about participants' backgrounds and personalities. Apart from getting-to-know activities, however, these icebreakers can help your team create a culture of success.
