Animals do not create monuments, man does

Animals, once they die, leave traces of their existence only by their remains (i.e. carcass, skeletal).

Man leaves his creations in all of it's different mediums. Art, buildings, machines, photos, books, etc. and memories passed on to each generation. Man is the only creature on Earth that can create out of substance other than just having existed.

it means: that's how man differs from animals. man has the capability to create a work of art, to produce something, may it be an invention or a literary piece of work, man may leave it behind for the next generations to make use of, to learn from and to benefit from.
