What do all these kids who are simply asking for the answers do when they're taking quizzes and tests, since they're not actually LEARNING the material??

It's one thing for folks who are asking for opinions on themes, or suggestions on where to look for resources.

It's the ones who copy 7 or 8 questions directly from their homework and expect the answer to just be handed to them that annoy me.

They probably get very low scores on quizzes and tests. Education cannot be spoon-fed. You have to get down on the subject and actually understand what is going on. And very specifically, you have to learn how to research.

But you kids have it so easy these days. Do you know what researching was like before the Internet? Life before Wikipedia? Although I suspect your teachers expect a lot more from you these days, too. They probably would like to see your answer in your own words, phrased in such a way that it seems likely you actually understand what you are writing.

That's why when you answer a homework question, you must try to explain it thoroughly so that asker may learn the process.

That what i'm doing, not so much for the points but for the happy feeling of helping others.

I try to walk them through it in a way that might be construed as helpful. Whether or not it makes a difference, I guess I can't say. But for what it's worth, I tend to agree with you.
