Who was the first person person to circumnavigate the world?

History books would tell us that that guy was Ferdinand Magellan. However, Ferdinand Magellan was killed in the island of Mactan by an army led by Lapu-Lapu before he completes his way back to Spain. This simply proves that Magellan was not the first guy to circumnavigate the world.

So, who was really the first person to circumnavigate the world?

i'm stressing out so much and it's only been four days since school started...and i play basketball for my school and i usually have practice like everyday.

i don't know what to do. the teachers are too fast for my pace, and i really don't want to drop a class...i'm working my butt off and i'm scared to death that my gpa is going to drop...

and to add to that, i don't have many friends at school and usually skip lunch which is pretty sad
please help me. i need advice

should i ask my guidence counselor to change my teachers?
or should i drop a class? (a very disliked choice, i'm prob. gonna feel like a quitter and pretty stupid)
or should i try my best, fail, and continue hs with a low gpa?

eh. advice would be nice.
thanks

Anyone know of a good online dictionary? I'm doing research for a debate topic (two, actually) in Speech and Debate, and we have to define key words in the resolution (if we want to have a good chance of beating our opponent, anyway). Most of the words need legal definitions. Black's Law Dictionary has great definitions, but I can't get it free online. :( And I don't have the money to buy the download. :( Any ideas?

Wikipedia isn't very reliable, by the way. I wouldn't use dictionary.com, either. ...Any suggestions??

Please watch this Lou Dobbs clip, listen after the report for his web site URL, and go there to send a message to your congressman to do something about this before it is too late! I don't want to be asked at my next performance review if I would be willing to accept a 75% pay cut because there are 200 Mexicans standing at the door who will do my job for even less than that. I want my son to learn Spanish electively, not because he needs the skill to make it through the day. I'm sick of hearing "Para espanol, oprima la estrella" every time I make a phone call. Surveys report that approximately 85% of Americans oppose the North American Union and the Reconquista, or Mexican Invasion. If everyone speaks about this, the politicians will have a harder time denying that it exists, thus making it more difficult for them to sneak it in the back door on us.

Here is the sentence: "There (have/has) never been any very convincing definitions of illness, disease, or mental disorder."

Which form of the verb "have" is correct here? Hint: the word "any" plays a key role in which form of "have" should be used.

Thanks for your help, Henrietta

Hi. I'm 17 and a senior. I am a guy and like working with kids. Ppre-K to kindergarten. I took Child development in High school for all four years. Even the teachers asked if i was going to become a teacher. Problem is my parents. A pre-K teacher doesn't make much. I come from a pretty wealthy family, compared to my life write now, i wouldn't make on a teachers salary. My mom suggested speech therapist. Does anyone know any other jobs thats invovled with teaching children and makes more then 50,00 a year.
Thanks for your help.

ohhk..so, i started school last monday.
i absolutly cannot STAND this school and the people, they always turn their backs on my for their friends they already know. i'm new to this school, and i'm quite shy - they don't have any clubs and all they have is soccer and i don't want to do that.
it's like, every evening i cry because thinking of tommorow and going to school just makes me feel like crapp and i feel horrible about the next day and i can't stop thinking about it...
i'm pretty pathetic lol xD
and we're going on this trip to this dumb farm on monday for 4 and a half days - and i'm NO GOOD with being away from home with a bunch of strangers that i don't want to be friends with. I might be transferring soon, but idk, the waiting list for this school is kinda long. so, right now i hate where i am hahaa..i feel like i could just jump out a window.
any tips on making time fly by? x(
