Since I am a senior in high school, I've been looking into majors and which one (or maybe two) I should take. I plan on going to a medical school after undergraduate.

Which major will best prepare me to go to a medical school? I know that there is no required major, but I want to be best prepared. Also, which schools have the best programs for these majors?

Ok..as yall know,im thinking about being home schooled but we are not completely sure on how to get into that system.I already know my state requirements so i dont need to go to that website everyone is giving me.My question is does my mom have to call the school board office to withdraw me from school? And if so,will they tell her what to do to get me into the homeschooling system? Also, being homeschooled do I have to take test and if so who do I send them to for them to know im keeping up? And they say that I have to have 180 days of school..is that from august to may or from january to december? Please stop telling me to check the state requirements..LOUISIANA HAS NONE...so do we call the school district or my school or both? Someone just answer my questions correctly please!! Thanks a bunch..oh and im going to be a freshman if that has anything to do with it

There are absolutely no requirements for homeschooling. No tests, nothing. All a parent has to do is say he or she is going to homeschool. There is no accountability. I have two students right now who were "home schooled" and can barely read. I mean a 16 y.o. and an 18 y.o. They read at about a 2nd grade level. The only reason they are even in public school now is because CPS intervened. So, do you think this is ok or do you think homeschoolers should be made accountable?

P.S. Anytime this is mentioned locally all the homeschoolers get angry. I know there are some parents out there doing a great job homeschooling, but what about the kids whose parents aren't?

I'm a rising senior who is petrified of the dreaded "rejection letter." That being said, what do you think are my chances of getting into the following schools based on the information below? And, would it be a big help to raise my ACT from 29 to 30?

Schools:
-Washington University in St. Louis (ED)
-Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (received Rensselaer Medalist Award, $15,000/year scholarship to this school only)
-College of William and Mary
-University of Maryland College Park (in-state applicant)

Scholastic Record:
ACT: 29
SAT II: 660 Chemistry, 620 Math 2
GPA: 3.81 (unweighted) 5.05
Rank: Top 5%
..have adequate EC's and leadership

So, what do you think? Is it worth studying some more for the ACT to bump it up to a 30.. .just because the "3" looks better than the "2"?

Thanks for any feedback

I'm going to school premed and am not sure which school would be best, stronger in sciences. I have good grades and tests scores so selectiveness is not a factor. Any advice?
